Where do we begin? I had been following this pretty little ginger on instagram a while before we finally met, because we shared one of my best friends (Kristin). I was 40 weeks pregnant, desperate to get out of the house and for the baby to get out of me. So finally, Kristin, Steph and myself met at Governor’s for supper one night. I had just learned that Steph was engaged to her beau “gentlecurrents“, and I’m not going to lie, I wanted to shoot their wedding. Little did I know, these two would become dear friends to Tim and I.

It wasn’t long after Steph and I realized that our baby name list was pretty much the exact same, that I would be diving into all her amazing wedding plans with her and officially becoming her photographer. I’m so thankful to have met these amazing souls, and to have photographed their beautiful Margaree Wedding.

For those of you who don’t know Evan and Steph, they were always good friends in high school and Steph had the biggest crush on “THE Evan Rice”. Their lives went in very different directions before they actually ended up together, but timing is everything isn’t it? Evan and Steph really are unique people and when you get to know them, it is very obvious that they are a perfect fit. They love Cape Breton (a feeling not every 2o something usually has), and they love exploring and of course fishing. These are just some of the things that drew them together, and I have no doubt that in 50 years from now they will be nestled in their little Margaree home doing just that.

Words really can’t even sum up how I felt about this wedding, and of course this magnificent couple. What I can say about this day is that I watched Steph pour her heart and soul into this wedding, and although wedding planning can be stressful she never once did anything she didn’t want to. Her wedding day was not about pleasing the people around her, but creating a day that reflected her and her husband so perfectly. It wasn’t about doing what was in, although we definitely drooled over many weddings on GWS, SMP and Southern Weddings throughout the year. When it was all said and done, she choose items she loved and it just worked.
