Oh my goodness… Another beautiful wedding from last year that I’m embarrassed is JUST getting shown now. Although Courtney has done a pretty great job of showcasing so many of her wedding photos on social media over the past year, so this one may look familiar.
Courtney and Kevin are “that couple”. You know, the ones who have been together since they were little high school babies. They are the rare ones that everyone is in awe over, because in our world today commitments are not what they used to be. When I meet couples like Courtney and Kevin, I instantly have a huge amount of respect for them, and I bubble up with joy because their love story is one that is so extra special. It was truly magical to watch them say I do, while surrounded by their highs school besties (another special thing they’ve got going on). I don’t think I’ve ever met a larger group of people who have remained friends for so long after high school. Court and Kev, you guys are seriously so lucky!
Courtney was one of those brides who I knew of, before she had me booked for her wedding. So I was secretly praying she would pick me to be the one who photographs her wedding when she first got engaged. When she sent me a message, I was pumped and we just clicked. Courtney is just a little joy of sweetness, and I loved that she cared about the little details that sometimes can get overlooked. From the DIY hangers to matching stationary, Courtney knew what was up!
I’ve also had the opportunity to vacation with these two last month for their friend Emily’s wedding in Dominican. It’s always so fun having opportunities to connect with past brides and grooms, and continue to get to know them over the years. This is kind of inevitable when you live in Cape Breton, and it’s one of the many reasons I love working in the maritimes.
