From the time I met Becky to now, we shot an engagement session, maternity session, newborn session with my mom, followed by boudoir session. It’s safe to say these two were more than comfortable behind the lens come wedding day, and I was so thankful to have spent so much time getting to know this beautiful couple throughout their engagement. Add them to the list of epic people we make friends with! sheesh.

Eb is from Ghana, and for months I was told how much fun this wedding was going to be. It was very important to Eb that they incorporated Ghanaian traditions into the wedding day. I personally think they did an amazing job blending the bold, beautiful colours into Becky’s pretty wedding vision. From the adorable bridesmaid skirts, to the detailed wedding favours, their wedding style most definitely matched their vibrant personalities. But the highlight of this wedding was most definitely the party, and I think everyone else would have to agree with me. Watching these boys dance was by far the most entertaining event at any wedding I’ve ever been to. There will be a LOT of video footage to follow soon, just wait! I could hardly get in the circle to snap pics because I thought I might get injured from all the wild dance moves. haha. It was definitely one for the books thats for sure!

Something else that I loved about this day was that Becky and Eb shared a first look! What I love about first looks is that we can control the light to ensure we capture the most perfect reaction, without having to worry about harsh sunlight or maybe dim indoor lighting. You only get to see your bride walking toward you once, so how special is it that those photos end up being the best of the bunch. I love sharing the benefits of first looks with my brides and grooms and though there are many benefits, I think the biggest thing for me is that when you do a first look you can actually embrace when you see each other. If you are seeing each other for the first time coming down the isle, you can’t really do that. You have to wait it out, and by the time you move onto portraits, that initial excitement isn’t the same as it was when he first laid eyes on you.

The way Eb’s face lit up when he first saw Becky, was something so precious and heart melting. He could hardly hold back his smile, let alone keep his hands off her. It was the sweetest moment to witness, and I can’t believe I get to do this week after week, all summer.

Becky and Eb, thank you both for trusting me with your memories… It’s a job I don’t take lightly, and it was a true honour to not only be part of your wedding day but also getting to know you and your family over the past year and a bit. You two are a perfect example of hard work, and making things happen. I love your go with the flow attitude, and positive outlook on life! You have so much to be excited for on this journey together.
