Well it is finally that time of year when I can sit down and take the time to blog some of my favourite weddings. This one happens to be right up there at the top of my list. I always start my wedding season with the best intentions, but as summer takes over and things become more hectic blogging always falls very short on my to do list. This summer has been one I am particularly proud of myself for (not sure if that is arrogant to say), but I don’t mean it in the terms of ‘oh I am so good at what I do’. In fact I often feel the complete opposite and am very hard on myself; critique everything I do. For years I would be so darn nervous before weddings that I would sometimes be sick to my stomach, but this year I was genuinely excited and have a new found love for weddings. I think I have turned over a new leaf and am already missing the wedding craziness!
These two though.. Let me just start by saying I love them! Yep, sometimes there are those couples that you just fall in love with and Lauren and Brandon were pretty easy to love! First and foremost, the way they looked at each other and how comfortable they were in each others arms was so heartwarming (not to mention they are hot as heck). It was evident through the entire day that their love was what was truly being celebrated and it was certainly felt. Now as much as I loved the love, I am a sucker for all things pretty! And boy there was a lot of pretty to be had! I was on a high for days and as corny as it sounds I do feel incredibly blessed to have been trusted to document one of the most important days in a couples life.
The setting for Lauren and Brandon’s day was pretty special; it took place on her parents beautiful Mira Property with the ceremony overlooking the water during the prettiest of light! It was an intimate setting with only the very closest family and friends in attendance. Celebrations continued with a quaint back yard party complete with appetizers and music (played by my talented hubby Tony Leudy). I felt like I was a guest and was certainly treated like one. I bombed around sipping on some wine with my camera in hand, capturing some candid moments. Back yard weddings are fast becoming a favourite for many reasons; it certainly lends itself for a relatively stress free day, even photos are pretty much taken on location or relatively close anyway! We did very little moving around and it was perfect. Lauren and Brandon did have a big ole Cape Breton wedding reception held at the Joan Harris Cruise Pavillion with all of their friends and family; so they ended up having the best of both worlds.
Well lets get to the good stuff shall we?
