Brad + Janel | Mira Wedding | By Brittany

Brad & Janel

I recently had a conversation about “wedding colors”, and the talk was that last seasons color of the summer was either blush or mint. I engaged in the conversation and continued to express my thoughts on the topic, which were “Yes, I agree the colours were the same.” But then I realized two things, #1 If you haven’t noticed by now, I LOVE blush and I think blush is the new black and it’s never going out of style. #2 Does it really matter if every bride chooses a blush color palette? The reason I say this, is because even if every wedding detail was the exact same as the last, it will NEVER be the same. No two weddings are alike, and on each wedding day there is always something SO special that stands out to me, and no it’s not the gorgeous Badgley Mischka shoes or the stunning blush ribbon (Don’t get me wrong, I DIE for these details). But at the end of the day, it’s the people and relationships that are so precious.

Janel mentioned that it was very important they include their grandparents in the day and most certainly the photos. However, when the day came, it all made sense and the word tradition kind of hit me hard in the stomach. Brad and Janel were married at St. Margarets Parish in Mira, where five generations of Janel’s family  also said “I do” – including sweet Gram and Gramps who were celebrating 57 years of marriage the Monday after the wedding! Melt. My. Heart. It really pulled on my heart strings that it was one of Janel’s top priorities to make her grandparents feel so loved and honoured on her special day. These are the things people remember, and cherish the most.

Brad and Janel… You two were so easy going and kind to our team on the wedding day. Even the rain stopping our photoshoot didn’t get you down, and it was a pleasure getting to photograph such a unique and special day! Thank you for letting us be part of it.
