Tanner | Grad 2013

So the year is almost at an end and I realized I have been so busy blogging for all of my clients that I forgot that I have not blogged my sons grad year.  Its been quite a busy year for me so sometimes the most important people sometimes take the backseat.  Although I am sure he could care less if I plastered his photos all over the web.  Tanner sucked up the photo shoot thing quite well, Cause truth be told he could really care less for the whole picture thing.  He also knows what it means to his mama, so as  the easy going kid he is he let me have my way and freeze some moments in time of his grade 12  year.  We shot these photos over a period of year and its really crazy how much he has matured in a year.  I look back at the first session and he is so much younger looking than is final session. ( shot by his talented sister Brittany) Music is a big part of Tanner’s life so of course we wanted that to be reflected in some of his photos.  My personal faves are the ones of him lying on his bed playing his guitar.  It was not  planned I went by his room one day and saw some great light and a perfect moment to capture Tanner doing what he does best.  I really can’t believe that my little boy is growing into a man and I honestly could not be more proud of what an amazing young man you are.  I know I am biased but Tanner you a special kid you are loved by all who know you and you are the funniest person I know.  I love you dearly and and beyond proud to call you my son! So my words of wisdom to you are  ” Always be you !! ” and ” Do what makes your heart sing!!”

I cant’t make this post without mention of a very special young lady.  Barbara Burke was called home to be with Jesus on May 26th exactly one month before graduation. She was a huge part of Tanners life so I feel I have to post these beautiful memories.  Tanner and Barb go way back to when they were just wee little ones  and remained the best of friends all through school.  They were always each others go to dates for special school occasions and also travelled to New York for a school band trip this year. ( oh how I wished I could have been there with camera in hand )  These photos are truly priceless, I really got the impact of what it means to be a photographer after these photos were taken and how tremendously important the memories you capture can become.  I know they will be precious for many who knew and loved Barbara as these were some of the last photos taken of her infectious smile.  I know the last two especially break my heart as it was Tanner and Barbaras first and last photos taken together.  Barbara you will forever be in our hearts and NEVER EVER forgotten!!
