It’s always refreshing to shoot in a new place, and so far this summer I consider myself pretty lucky that I almost don’t have a single wedding in the same spot. It’s been such a wonderful season so far and our little weekend getaway to Prince Edward Island to photograph Jenna & David’s special day, was definitely one that made me giddy. I knew as soon as Jenna described her vision to me at our initial consultation that she was a details girl. Y’all know how much I love detail brides!
JennaĀ and David have the most adorable little munchkin Brynlee, and as many of you brides know it’s not easy to plan a wedding when you have little ones. When she expressed how much work it was, I knew she wasn’t lying. This girl didn’t miss a beat, and I was so impressed with everything she pulled off, all while juggling work and her sweet little girl (not to mention planning it from a different province). While I often give a lot of credit to my brides, I often to forget to throw some “way to go’s” out there to my patient grooms. I know wedding details are the last thing most men care about, and don’t get them started on photography, but in the short time I’ve spent with David (and all my grooms), I was seriously impressed with how laid back he was. Even when I thought it would be a great idea to race to Cavendish beach (10-15 minute drive each way) for the sake of 10 minutes of photos, and we had about 40 minutes max before we had to be back to the ceremony… He was as chill as can be! You have no idea how much I appreciate a patient groom, and just when he thought he was finished, he was getting dragged back outside for “just a few more”. So way to go David, you’re a good man and Jenna you’re a lucky gal!
But let’s just get to the good stuff…
I also should add that Jenna and David had the most fun wedding party! Maybe I’m just saying that because I knew most of them / have already shot multiple weddings with these amazing peeps but either way, I just loved working with these humans. SO much, that I was squeezing every last bit of daylight I could, to grab quick cute shots of some of them with their husbands/hubby’s to be. This was so much fun š
